Deputy PM: Russian government not to limit cash in purchases
MOSCOW, Jan 30 (PRIME) -- The Russian government does not plan to introduce any restrictions on cash purchases, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters on January 28.
On January 21, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov suggested returning to discussion of limiting cash transactions to allow the government to collect more taxes and make the economy more transparent.
“We don’t plan anything like that, we will not introduce any restrictions on cash purchases, we have nothing of that kind in mind. There is a general world trend for an increase of non-cash payments. But it should happen naturally, without any artificial decisions,” Dvorkovich said.
